Born in Kitwe, Zambia, and educated in South Africa, Colin has a worldly and artistic approach to entertainment. After moving to the United States in 1985, he formed Colin Cowie Lifestyle, the premier event-planning, catering and design company with offices in New York and Los Angeles. Since its inception, the company has catered events for celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Lisa Kudrow, John Travolta and countless others.

Colin’s signature style is making even casual events appear sophisticated and elegant. He keeps in mind the fact that not everyone has a celebrity level budget and encourages people to do what’s right for them, above all else.

Colin’s company has expanded to include everything associated with fine living, from clothing design to home furnishings. Colin is a contributing editor to InStyle, Eating Well and Honeymoon magazines. He has also written lifestyle books such as Effortless Elegance with Colin Cowie (HarperCollins), Weddings (Little, Brown) and Dinner after Dark (Clarkson Potter).
